About Us

What is BEAM?

We sell home goods and accessories. We scour the world to find the best of the best in the home and lifestyle product categories, and we personally hand select only those that we believe offer excellent quality and good design. We offer products from established, iconic brands as well as emerging, up-and-coming artists and designers, and strive to create a dynamic, well-edited product mix that keeps it fresh and you in the know. Do you have a brick-and-mortar store?

We do! We have a brick-and-mortar store in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York—famous for both its art and design scene, as well as being the birthplace of the modern hipster. Virtually everything you see online (plus more!) is available in our physical store—so come on by if you’re local and want to see anything in person. Our physical store is located on the Williamsburg waterfront at 240 Kent Avenue (at North 1st Street), Brooklyn, NY 11249.

What are your hours?

Our brick-and-mortar store is open daily from 12pm to 7pm, and by appointment.  Our website is open 24/7. :)

I have a really great idea for a product for your store! How do I let you know about it?

Awesome! We always love hearing about cool new stuff.  Send us an email at info@beambk.com with the deets. We especially love hearing from artists, designers, and makers themselves.

I like the BEAM look.  Can you help me design my house/apartment?

Absolutely! We love helping people create their dream spaces. The BEAM team has 15+ years of professional design experience, and we’re available for residential and commercial projects both large and small. We can help you pick paint colors, choose furniture or accessories, add a new kitchen or bathroom, design a room, or even renovate your entire brownstone. If you’re in the New York metro area, we offer a one-hour, in-home design consultation for $50. For more information, please visit our Interior Design page.

Ordering

What forms of payment do you accept?

Our online store accepts American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and PayPal.

Do you charge sales taxes?

We’re headquartered in Brooklyn, New York, so we’re required to collect sales taxes from our New York-based customers. In New York, sales tax rates vary by county. The prices displayed on our website exclude sales taxes. If you’re in New York, sales tax will be calculated and added to your order total when you check out.

Do I need an account to purchase an item?

Nope, you can check out using a guest account.

When do you charge my credit card?

We charge your card at the time your order is placed.

Is my credit card information safe?

Yes, we use SSL encryption technology to keep all of your personal information, including your payment details, secure.

What do you do with my personal information?

Your safety and privacy are our priority. Your personal information will not be sold to or shared with marketers. We also do not keep your payment information on file. You can review our complete privacy policy here.

Do you gift wrap?

We don’t currently offer a gift wrap option, but we can include a gift receipt and a personal note from you if you would like. Just let us know that your order is a gift and what you’d like the gift message to say during the checkout process.

Where does BEAM ship?

We currently ship to street addresses in the United States only. Unfortunately, we’re not able to ship to P.O. boxes. If you live outside the United States, and want to place an order, please get in touch with us via email at info@beambk.com and we’ll see what we can do to accommodate you.  

How much does shipping cost?

Our standard shipping rates are:

UNITED STATES (48 STATES)
Up to $100       $6.95
$100 and up     FREE

ALASKA & HAWAII
Up to $100       $12.95
$100 and up     FREE

Additional shipping and handling fees may apply to products that are fragile, heavy, or especially bulky. If additional shipping or handling fees apply, this will be noted on the product page and/or at checkout.

New York customers can choose to hold the items for pick-up at our Williamsburg, Brooklyn store, free of charge.

How will my order be shipped?

We ship most orders via USPS or FedEx Ground.

When will my order be shipped?

We ship most orders within 1 to 3 business days of the order date. Of course, custom made or special orders may take longer—but we’ll let you know if that’s the case.

How do I know when my order has shipped?

The day your order ships, you will receive an email from us letting you know that your order is on its way, as well as a  tracking link (if applicable) so you can chart its progress from us to you.

When will I receive my order?

Our experience is that orders shipped via USPS or FedEx Ground typically arrive within 1 to 5 days of ship date.

I can’t wait to get my order! Is expedited shipping available?

Expedited shipping is generally not available -- but if you really, really need to get your order in a hurry, email or call us and we’ll see what we can do!

What do I do if my order arrives damaged?

Oh no! Please contact us immediately at info@beambk.com so we can assist you.

Returns and Exchanges

How do I return or exchange an item I bought online?

We love our stuff and hope you do too, but we understand that sometimes there may be a reason to return or exchange an item.  In general, any item purchased on our website may be returned for store credit or a refund of the item's purchase price if returned within 14 days of receipt of the order. Returned items must be unused and in their original condition and packaging. Unfortunately, shipping charges are not refundable. Please visit our Returns and Exchanges page for detailed information on how to complete a return or exchange. Please note that artwork, custom/special orders, and sale items are final sale. We do not accept returns or exchanges on such items.

I can’t keep staring at this computer.  Can I talk to someone over the phone?

Of course, we love talking to our customers!  Please call us at 646-450-1469.  If we don’t answer, it’s probably because we’re assisting folks in our store. In that case, you know the drill – just leave a message with your name and number and we’ll call you back as soon as we can.
